We booked at Shantara because of its central location AND because of its policy of limiting the age of guests to 15 and above. When we arrived we were swept away by the beauty of the resort and above average welcome we received. The excellent hospitality continued right through our stay - we were made to feel "special" and as we were celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary this was greatly appreciated.

We really enjoyed our stay at Shantara. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, including the bed, the shower was good. Enjoyed the position as it was close to town which saved us from using our car. All staff that we engaged with were helpful and friendly and kindly contacted us when we had left something behind. Loved the pools. We have stayed in port douglas a number of times and we think Shantara is one of the best we have stayed in. Will recommend to friends.

Staff was very friendly & very helpful with tours & information on port douglas. Rooms were beautiful & clean as the pool & spa. Would go back and stay in a heart beat

Great resort, loved out own private access to pool and having a jacuzzi. Room was clean and so were the facilities. Would love to go back.

My husband & I recently stayed at Shantara Resort and Spa, it was it first time away together without our 2 young children. We found Shantara to be a beautiful, relaxing and peaceful place. We were left alone to our own devices to enjoy the local attractions and amenities. The welcome was very friendly and everything was explained in detail to us about local dining and activities we could participate in, we would highly recommend Shantara and it's staff and would love to come back one day.

The apartment service and facilities at the resort were excellent and the staff were very helpful, efficient and friendly. The Resort was in an ideal location for touring and all peaceful and within easy walking distance from the town facilities.

The staff are very helpful and will even give you a comprehensive talk to maximise your Queensland experience. The pool area is very nice and the simplistic planting blends in well with the apartments/environment. The Shantara is very close to the picturesque town of Port Douglas so the restaurants, shops, port and Sunday Market are just a 10 minute stroll away.. Of course you may have heard those screaming children on your Aircraft to Cairns, but you won''t hear them at this hotel due to a couple only policy. So in conclusion if you want a picturesque, relaxing, stress free vacation I recommend you choose Shantara without hesitation.
