Shantara is a beautiful resort near the main street and close to the beach. The apartment where we stayed was clean, spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. However the beds were too soft for our liking. The bathroom with a spa bath was nice. There were no nice views from the room, but the pool access from the deck was excellent. The staff was friendly and helped us choose and book all our tours.

We arrived at the Shantara Resort for 4 wonderful nights for our 15 year wedding anniversary. From the moment we entered the lobby the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. There is plenty of underground secure parking and lifts that take you straight up to the lobby. We arrived at our 1 bedroom apartment and it was beautiful. We were gifted with a bottle of champagne for our anniversary, which was lovely of the owners. We stayed in apartment 18 A on the 1st floor, and it was lovely. The room was extremely neat, clean and tidy. With an ample kitchen and all of the appliances you need, large lounge room which overlooked the beautiful heated swimming pool, generous sized bedroom with a queen bed and built in wardrobe, and a large bathroom with a huge spa and big shower. We also had a decking outside that had 2 chairs and a table and also a sun lounge to sit back and relax on. All overlooking the pool up on the first floor. There is also a washing machine and dryer (if you need it), and you share these with only 1 other room. The pool was in an immaculate condition and it was always maintained while we were there. We also did a full day trip up to the Daintree Rainforest, which we booked through the resort when we arrived. They were more than happy to book it for us, and we just paid for it when we checked out of the resort. We just loved lying back and taking it all in. The resort is amazing!! The resort is only a short walk from the popular '4 mile beach' and also the jetty and the main street are only a couple of minutes walk away. While staying at the resort, it was so quiet and easy to relax in. It feels like you are miles away from everyone else. Everything was so easy to do while staying at the resort. The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to assist you. The entire resort is well maintained and it was a pleasure to stay there. We will be back again.

Probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. We had one of the 4 Shantara apartments on the bottom level. Very spacious, all the appliances you need and best of all direct access to the pool from your private pool deck. You have access to a washing machine and dryer that costs no extra to you but room cleaning services are available at an extra cost (which i think is a good way to keep the costs down and be more eco-friendly). They can book all tours for you from reception and add it to your account. The best location, only being a short 5 minute walk to the main street in town and the same to the beach. We had an amazing time and cant wait to come back.

Excellent resort. Other than WIFI being non existent in the bedroom I could not fault it.

We're regular visitors to the Shantara when we travel up from Sydney - it's a terrific place to stay!!

Our second stay at the Shantara was fantastic again. It is such a lovely place; clean, tidy, quiet, comfortable lounge & bed, large bathroom, relaxing spa bath, soft thick bath towels, balcony overlooking the pool...All staff were very friendly & polite. It's so close to the beach & main street, it's the perfect place to relax.

Perfect place to stay very quiet and private, only a short walk to town, beach and marina. Will stay again here again hopefully in the same room.

Lovely place and studio. Disappointed with the lack of sun on our balcony and lack of spare sunbeds in the sunshine most areas very shaded, we had escaped cold weather in NZ and were looking forward to sitting in the sun. Pool was absolutely gorgeous, very clean and great temperature this would be the best part of Shantara for us. Studio facilities great as we ate out so only had snacks and drinks in our room.
