Shantara was is a great place for a couples retreat in Port Douglas. It was quiet and we had plenty of privacy, but on the other hand the staff were exceptionally helpful when we wanted to head out to explore the area. They helped us organize trips out to the reef and into the Daintree rainforest and we had a great time at everything they recommended!

We had a fantastic stay. It was quiet and so enjoyable. We stayed in a poolside unit and it was just lovely. Very much recommended for anyone who wants to just rest and recoup, yet enjoy night life in Port Douglas as well. Long walks alone the beach and lovely dinners only a short walk away in Port Douglas.

I stayed at the Shantara with my husband a couple of years ago. I have stayed at a few different resorts around Port Douglas and this one is definitely my favourite one. The location is fantastic, we could easily walk into town. We stayed in a pool access room which is definitely worth it, the room was gorgeous and I love being able to go for a quick dip without walking through the resort to get to the pool. I am a Travel Agent and I have recommened this hotel to all of my clients who are heading to Port Douglas. Will be back next time we are there!

Shantara lives up to its pictures. Great location, lovely and clean apartment overlooking the pool enhancing the tropical experience. Friendly welcoming staff who happily assisted with recommendations and suggestions of activities.

We had an absolutely great holiday in Port Douglas which was made even more enjoyable because we had chosen to stay at your resort. We have since recommended friends and family who might be visiting Port Douglas in the future to certainly stay at the Shantara and we likewise will have no hesitation in returning to your lovely accommadion. My girlfriends & I stayed for a long weekend. There were 5 of us & we shared two adjoining rooms which was perfect for us. The rooms were well equipped, comfortable & clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely return.

We had an extremely relaxing and very special stay at Port Douglas and at Shantara in particular. It was a truly special time, in a special place that will always hold very special memories for us. Shantara is a high quality, relaxing and luxurious place for that romantic and relaxing time away.

We were so looking forward to our holiday in Port Douglas but just before heading off my wife had a fall and broke her knee so we couldnt make the trip. The Shantara staff were so helpful and understanding in cancelling our booking. One day we will make it back to Port Douglas and Shantara and know we will be well looked after.

We have stayed twice at The Shantara Resort and both times have been fantastic, the rooms are amazing, so comfortable and big. Both pools are private and easily accessible, the staff on both visits where friendly and very hospitable, able to give us so much local information and assistance. The resort is very convenient to the beach and walking distance the main street and fabulous restaurants of Port Douglas.

Great place to stay. We stayed with another couple and had a one bed and studio swim up. Just fabulous to pop in and out of the pool from room. A bottle of bubbles waiting for us for my 60th birthday a lovely treat. Fab pool and a short walk into town. Would return again
