From the moment we walked into Shatara we felt relaxed and welcomed from all members of the staff. They could not do enough for us and every other guest that was at the resort. The room was immaculately maintained and well presented. there was nothing that we needed and if we did need anything, the staff were more than happy to provide. We felt as if we were the only guests at the resort as we were unable to hear any other guest in our rooms. Both pools were clean and the water temperature was perfect. The barbeque area was great and they even provided us with the basics to ensure we were able to cook our meals and eat in an idealic setting by the pool. The added bonus of not having children at the resort allowed for us to relax anywhere without being distrurbed.I would not hesitate recommending Shatara to any one and we plan to make this place a regular holiday destination. We loved everything about the Shantara, the location , the resort, the rooms are modern and clean overlooking the pool. The BBQ facility is clean . We look forward to our next visit at the Shantara.

Great place, excellent standard & facilities. Fantastic BBQ area & pool. Very quiet (no kids) apart from other drunk guests returning home from night out showing no respect or regard for other house guests already in bed.

Amanda was so fantastic at planning our toursshe knew exactky what we needed, I was unwell and not wanting huge groups. nothing was a problem, very welcoming and friendly.

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment for 4 nights on level 1 . Had amazing pools view, room very clean and modern. Hotel surrounds are spotless and both pools are beautiful. Nice and quiet resort for couples and people wanting to chill out and relax. Good location , we had a car but shops are only a short 5-10 min away.

Great little place to stay at in a nice quiet location just off Macrossan Street. Staff were very helpful and also considerate of privacy. Ideal for couples and a great alternative to some of the larger, family-oriented hotels. Would recommend to friends.

Great Shantara one bedroomed apartment, with deck to swim from into the pool. Jacuzzi was a great addition. Nice sized apartment, bedroom, kitchen & bathroom. Plenty of room & great location to everything.

I have just returned from my stay at Shantara Resort in Port Douglas. My room had a pool view over the balcony, and was located on the 1st Floor. I did not find the room small at all, it had a lovely clean fresh "golden" feel about it and was very well appointed with fridge, microwave, and everything else, including the kitchen sink! The bathroom was well designed with a large shower. The Resort boasts two very pretty pools and, while I thought I would get a lot of use from them, I found there was so much to do that I didn't even dip a toe. The lovely Amanda helped me choose tours I would most enjoy and then booked me in and delivered the receipt to my room - great service. Although there is no restaurant on site the Resort is well located within a short stroll of a block or so to lots of eateries on Macrossan St. I had a wonderful time and I hope to return. Thank you.

We stayed for 4 nights in a studio room with pool access. I recommend regardless of the room type to attempt to have the pool access as this was excellent. It was superb staying here as it was generally very quiet and relaxing. The resort is reasonably close to the beach as well as and shops/restaurants. Rooms and service were to a high standard. Most importantly the room was clean with a very comfortable bed! Would recommend staying here.

Very happy with our stay. The little things made a big difference eg current magazine, and simple food that were at the BBQ for communal use.
